Tonight I felt like showing you all my collection of NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencils. I don't know where I'd be without these bad boys. I remember "Milk" being my very first one, when I really got into makeup, because everyone was raving about how amazing it was as a "sticky base." And OH WAIT, there are so many more colors too. Be still my heart. (Yes, I love them THAT much!) For my birthday I picked up a few more to add to my collection. (And a backup of Milk.) I picked mine up at Ulta for $4.19 but Cherry Culture has them for $3.50 each!
In my collection so far:
Milk: creamy white
Black Bean: creamy black (new to me)
Slate: creamy pewter
Rust: creamy rust color- hints of maroon in certain light (new to me)
Purple Velvet: creamy dark purple (new to me)
Lemon: creamy lime color (lemon? really?!)
Pots and Pans: creamy silver
Strawberry Milk: creamy light pink
Purple: creamy periwinkle. Purple with blue shift (my favorite!)
Electric Blue: creamy teal with silver sparkles (new to me)

Now, if you're just starting out with makeup these creamy jumbo pencils are great to use all over the lid (over a primer) for a vibrant eyeshadow look. It's best to apply and then blend the color in (with clean finger or brush) until there is just enough color so that it's not overwhelming on your lid. Once you add the shadow on top, the colors POP! If you've blended well enough, there is very little creasing with these. Milk sometimes creases if used heavily and not blended well enough. I honestly can not do my eye makeup anymore without my creamy base. AND they are a great alternative to more pricey eyeshadow bases out there.
What's your favorite NYX Jumbo pencil color? Do you use them as your eyeshadow base?
