It's hump day! And I actually did my makeup! ANDDD wanted to share it with you too. #winning

It's quite odd for me to gravitate toward more neutral eyeshadow shades, but lately, I tend to reach for more muted and golden shades.  Of course, I still love my sparkle and shimmer! I've also really been enjoying pairing a rich lip with neutral eyes.

It's Friday and I'm actually doing a makeup post! I'm so excited to be featuring two of my favortite indie companies, Darling Girl Cosmetics and Chinovi Cosmetics. I'll jump right in, because in my opinion, this combo is beautiful! It feels so much like Fall to me, which I'm so excited is just around the corner. I'm also wearing a Darling Girl Halloween 2013 color that's not yet released- it is SUPER shimmery and sparkly and beautiful. Check it out!

I loved this look. It was so sparkly and fun and made my green eyes really shine!

Chinovi Cosmetics Christmas Collection Swatches!

As promised, I have for you swatches of the newest Limited Edition collection from Chinovi Cosmetics. The Christmas Collection! The colors in this collection are absolutely stunning!

Descriptions from the Chinovi website:

Berry Garland is a deep red with berry tones and swirled with cranberry and silver sparkles.

Blue Spruce is a deep evergreen with blue interference. It is lit up with blue and golden sparkles.

Flocked is an extremely shimmery white.

Star is a darkened gold with a lot of shimmering gold sparkles.

Tinsel is a mid tone blue with tons of purple, pink, teal and silver sparkles.

Twinkle is a shimmery nude with silver and gold sparkles.

My thoughts:
I am completely in LOVE with Berry Garland and Blue Spruce. Blue Spruce is super sparkly green with blue sparks throughout. It's so beautiful. And of course Berry Garland is a deep sparkly burgundy which is rich and complex. There is not one color in this collection that isn't gorgeous and sparkly. Flocked and Twinkle are terrific highlight and/or neutral colors. Tinsel is an intense and gorgeous navy blue with tons of multicolored sparkles. So hot! Star is perfect for a neutral look with a pop. It's such a terrific sparkly gold!

Here is a quick look using Berry Garland in the crease, Star on the main lid, Blue Spruce on the lower lash line, Flocked as a highlight, and Twinkle in the tear duct area.

Southwest SparkleCon 2012!

Zombies!

Happy Tuesday! Two weekends ago, I hosted the first annual Southwest Bloggers Meet and Greet (otherwise known as SparkleCon) here in Albuquerque, New Mexico! I was able to meet friends and fellow bloggers that I've been chatting with about makeup for over a year online. We had an absolute blast together and didn't want the weekend to end. Here are a few snapshots from the weekend!

We're missing one person, my friend Kat, in the photos but she was there! My mother-in-law Mary even got in on the action!



We got together Friday evening for a wonderful New Mexican dinner at Sadie's of New Mexico! Food and booze! YES! Saturday morning was SparkleCon! The weather was amazing and we hung out outside just chatting about makeup and everything under the sun. I have not laughed as hard as I did with these ladies in YEARS! We had SO much fun!

I find this pretty hilarious because all of those traits are me rolled into one! :D

Awesome Purple Week: Day 2!

Hey Zombies!

I fell asleep last night at 6:00 pm LIKE A BOSS and slept all night. So I also slept through all the blogging I intended on doing. Make up day today!

I had an idea to blog about purples this week because it's the most frequently used color in my makeup arsenal and I wanted to see how many ways I could use the color purple in a week. Lips, eyes, nails, etc. I got some of my friends in on the action to share our love of purple with the world! :D
