Nerd Lacquer: Cold and Calculating!

Zombies!

And now for my last installment of nail polish goodness. This was fun!

(click banner to be directed to Etsy store)

Today, I bring you # 3 of a 3 part swatch fest. Check out part 1 Warrior Ethos and part 2 All of Time and Space!

Next up Cold and Calculating! My favorite of the bunch!

Per the Etsy store:

Where No Lacquer Has Gone Before series - "Cold & Calculating" is a cool shimmering violet and charcoal base with silver and royal purple glitter, medium purple hexagonal glitter, and large silver hexagonal glitter. Opaque in two coats, or great as a top coat over your favorite dark lacquer.

(ChG Fast Forward top coat was used)

FLASH

My thoughts:

I adore...ADORE this nail polish. This was the easiest and completely opaque of the 3 to apply and went on like a dream in just two coats. I wasn't able to get much of the hex glitter to transfer from bottle to nail, but the silver and purple glitter throughout made up for that. This is my favorite of the 3 I had the pleasure to review. In real life there is a definite purple shift that show up well in the photos. I am very very pleased with Nerd Lacquer nail polishes.

Here's all 3 together!

And a color wheel of all of the different nail polish. I'm pretty sure new ones have been added to the site. Forgive me for not labeling them all.

I am really excited to watch String Theory grow. The nail polish is unique and fun and FULL of glitter. The packaging of the nail polish was wonderful and Amanda included a bow the color of the font on her logo. I thought that was a fun touch. I'm happy to see such a fun company with a unique product on Etsy and it's refreshing that the product is as described and wonderful.

Thank you Amanda for giving me the opportunity to review these lovelies and best of luck!
By the way, there is a new Space themed trio in the Etsy store and I suggest you GO NOW and get it. haha

Nerd Lacquer: All of Time and Space!

Good evening Zombies!

Late night posts are late! I have decided that I will take the weekends off on my 90 day challenge, only because it's time I have all my family together and can't blog until the evenings. I don't really want to do makeup at 9:00 at night. :P

So, I thought, I'd share with you another nail polish post!

(click banner to be directed to Etsy store)

Tonight, I bring you #2 of a 3 part swatch fest. Check out part 1 Warrior Ethos!

Next up All of Time and Space!

Per the Etsy store:

Mad Man with a Box Series - "All of Time and Space" is a sheer crystalline minty turquoise with silver shimmer, small and medium fuchsia glitter, and big silver hexagonal glitter. Quite opaque in two coats; if applied very very thin, you might have some visible nail line, though I find that the glitter obscures it enough that you can't see it unless your hand is right up next to your face.

(ChG Fast Forward top coat was used)

My Thoughts:

Another fun and sparkly franken from Nerd Lacquer! Again, I think this polish would be amazing layered over a darker polish, but it went opaque in just two coats! Not normally a color I'd gravitate towards, it makes me feel girly! The polishes are also very easy to work with.

I forgot to mention in my first review of Nerd Lacquer that I love the bottles these little gems come in. The labels are AWESOME! And I've changed my mind, $8.00 is a great price for these unique and complex franken-ed polishes!

What are your thoughts on All of Time and Space? (hehe)

Nerd Lacquer: Warrior Ethos!

Good morning Zombies!

I have special post today! We ALL know, I'm not a nail polish blogger, but when I was contacted by Amanda from byStringTheory to review a few of her new "Ner Lacquer" nail polishes, I thought I'd give it a go. Especailly when I saw the "hexagonal" glitter in most of them. SOLD!

(click banner to be directed to Etsy store)

So, today, I bring you #1 of a 3 part swatch fest.

Up first is Warrior Ethos!

Per the Etsy store:

Where No Lacquer Has Gone Before series - "Warrior Ethos" is a bright blood red with black, iridescent, copper, and red glitter, plus medium black hexagonal glitter and large copper hexagonal glitter. Opaque in two coats, or great as a top coat over your favorite crimson.

(ChG Fast Forward top coat was used)

All polishes come in a standard full-sized 15ml / .5oz bottle, not a mini. All are blended from existing colors, and combine anywhere from 6 to a dozen (or more!) different shades and components. The vast majority of component polishes are 3-free, but some are not. They ARE all cruelty-free, however. I don't buy any lacquers from brands who test on animals.

My thoughts:

When I first opened the bottle, the smell was reminiscent of the play nail polishes I had as a kid. It wasn't overbearing, but it was there. This polish is also pretty thin in one coat, so I did two. I think this would look awesome over a black or red base. I was complemented on the color already today, and that doesn't really happen often when I am out, so that was a plus. I love the shimmer and the black glitter.

I think $8.00 may be a *little* high, but considering each nail polish has several different colors and glitters (frankened) within, I can kind of forgive the price.

I am excited to try the other two I received!
