Guest Post with Jerry Dazzlepants! The one and only SilhouetteScreams!

Zombies!

I am out of town this weekend on a mini-vacation with my family. So, to fill in a day I will be gone, I give you the amazing SilhouetteScreams and her amazing face.

I'm SilhouetteScreams, but you can call me Jerry Dazzlepants. I'm a 21 year old uni student from Australia, and I enjoy nothing more than slapping on drag queen makeup to scare small children. Wendi asked me to do a guest post while she's out of town fighting crime, and I just about piddled my pants with excitement! I immediately knew I wanted to recreate one of her awesome looks, and I chose this one. I loved the teal in the lower crease, though I admittedly got a bit carried away with blending and it turned purple! While I usually opt for a Snooki nude lip with my bolder eye makeup looks, I wanted to channel Wendi as much as possible here. She can rock a bright pink lip with anything, so I thought I'd waddle out of my comfort zone and try it! I don't think I look quite as awesome as the Zombie, but I'm pleasantly surprised. ^__^

Swatches are FUN! *PURPLE*

Good Friday evening my dear Zombies!

What is it about purple? I know a few people who confess that they have more purple in their makeup stash, nailpolish stash, clothing, etc. than any other color. There is something deliciously special about purple. It can have pink undertones, blue undertones, it can be sprinkled with glitter or vividly matte. Purple is...love.

Here I have swatched all 33 of my mineral purple shades. I have others, but they aren't in jar form, so I didn't bother. The more I swatched, the more I thought to myself, "DAMN, you really need to wear this one more often" or "oooo look at that glitter", etc.

The contenders this evening (in no particular order) swatched over Pixie Epoxy:

Fyrinnae ( I own a ton of Fyrinnae purples)
Concrete Minerals
Darling Girl Cosmetics
High Voltage Cosmetics
Hi-Fi Cosmetics
Evil Shades
Orglamix
NYX

Swatches are FUN! *GREEN*

Swatches are fun, but swatching is NOT!

Tonight is a beautiful rainy night here in Albuquerque. It rained for a good hour earlier with TONS of lightning and thunder. My kids were troopers and actually slept through most of it! I wanted to stay offline as much as possible, so decided to do some swatching. I'll be swatching all my eyeshadows by color. YAY! I remember before starting my blog how I liked to Google certain shades before buying. I thought swatches were extremely helpful, so this is a 'sharing is caring' post.

So tonight I bring you my "green" swatches. This is mainly ONLY mineral eyeshadow. I didn't want to do through my palettes, cause, well...MEH. It became abundantly clear that I do not own enough green shades. I must fix that, and SOON! lol

The contenders this evening: (in no particular order)

Fyirnnae
Hi-Fi Cosmetics
NYX
Evil Shades
High Voltage Cosmetics
OrglamixMoi Minerals
Concrete Mineral

Zombie Chic's Need LoveToo! LOTD!

Good evening Zombies!

I started the 30 Day Shred this evening. If you don't know what that is, it's a fitness DVD with the hard ass, hard bodied little Jillian Michaels. I will say it was not as hard as I was expecting, but it was NOT a piece of cake. My face was a glow with sweat as were my arms and legs. I had that fun knot in your tummy when you're on the brink of a puke, but not quite there. LOL  All in all though, I'm glad I started and I'm excited to continue.

All that aside. I created a really great look today. I took inspiration from Phyrra's recent awesome Shades of Green post. Though it's not exactly like it, I tied in a bit of the same colors.

Rapunzel was into Smut!

I just wasn't feeling "it" today.. I woke up late, rushed to get out the door, etc. etc. So, this is a very simple neutral look for me today. I ADORE Rapunzel had Extensions by Fyrinnae, so much so that I slathered it on this morning. In the pictures it looks almost Gold, but trust me, it's a gorgeous pink shimmer with gold undertones. LOVE!

I do promise to one day actually tame my ugly ass eyebrows too...hehe

Strobelight Smut Face!

I woke up this morning thinking I had jury duty. Yay, fun! So I did my makeup a little on the easy and neutral side, well, neutral for me! BUT, alas, I was looking at the wrong calendar and I am not needed this week... I had a fun field trip to the courthouse! AND, an hour after I finally get to work, daycare tells me I need to pick up my baby. So, here I am..He's sleeping and I'm blogging. This is the LIFE!

So here is what I did this morning. I didn't get many face pics as my husband was behind me making weird faces and I was bugged. It's funny, my agitation really came through in the pics..so I'll just leave those out. LOL!

Enjoy!

Feeling HAWT Pink and Black!

Zombies! I'm baaaccccck! You can't get rid of a Zombie strain that easily..gah!

Anywho, today I felt like being bold and dramatic with my makeup, while maintaining a little bit of "professionalism." This is what I came up with. I'm actually pretty impressed by Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy at this point and may have to buy a full size. It really does bring out the true shade of eyeshadow. But hell, I'm just impressed with Fyrinnae period.

UDPP
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Concrete Minerals "Lovey Dovey" all over top lid once Epoxy has dried to "sticky"
Urban Decay "Perverion" and "Gunmetal" together in crease and above lid
Concrete Minerals "Prude" as highlight
Fyrinnae "Immortality" over Perversion and Gunmetal (if you haven't seen this color..OMG! Black base with rainbow glitter. LOVE!
Fyrinnae "Rapunzel Had Extensions" bottom lash line and inner corner
UD liner in "Zero" waterline
Maybelline cream liner in "Charcoal" top lash line
Cover Girl Lash Blash Luxe in the black shade (lol)

Cheeks:
Fyrinnae Glowing Blush in "Captivate"

Lips:
Rimmel "Just So"

What do you think Zombies! I'm happy with my perky pink and black look!

Airy Fairy..LOTD

 Zombies!

The whole point of a beauty/makeup blog is to show case beauty in any form.. The past week, I just haven't been "feeling" it. Sick children, tired Mommy, eyeball vein burst, etc. This just hasn't been a good week for posting. So tonight after racking my brain of what I could do as an entry tonight, I decided to play with Photoshop and come up with the way I am feeling now, via photo color alterations. And this is it:

"Airy Fairy." I feel very bright and "in your face" this week, but not really in a good way. I feel like I'm missing something...a little color in my life. Something I will find once my Fyrinnea order gets here. LMAO

I do have lots of special things coming up very soon, but for now, this is it... A self portrait of sorts.

Eyes:
Heavenly Naturals "Cupcake" and "Wish" on lid
Concrete Minerals "Lovey Dovey" above crease
Concrete Minerals "Temptress" in crease and lower lash line
Maybelline Cream Liner in Charcoal as top liner
Urban Decay "Zero" liner water line

Concrete Minerals "Sexy Tart Collection"

Yesterday arrived my second order from Concrete Minerals. (Gooooo Monday!) Luckily my friend Megan and I worked out a deali-o and I was able to get 5 new shadows from CM. Prude, Seance, Lovey Dovey, Unity, and Hearts. (Swatches will come later.) 3 of them are in the "Sexy Tart Collection." Man, am I ever glad I got these shadows. Concrete Minerals is rapidly becoming my favorite mineral company- the colors are vibrant and pigmented and so easy to blend. With a good primer they also last all day! I did a look for work today using just this collection which includes:

Prude: A shimmery light pink color for the highlight.
Lovey Dovery: A gold based pink color - used all over my lid
Seance: Deep purple color with shimmer- great for the crease and outer "V".
I also added a little Unity to deepen Lovey Dovey and put it on my lower lash line.

Here is the final look. I'm super excited about this one!

Yes Zombies.. 5 out of 5 Zombies HANDS DOWN!! Lovey Dovey is now one of my top 5 favorite eyeshadow!

Concrete Minerals Review and SWATCHES!

Wooooot! In the mail on Saturday was my wonderful package from Concrete Minerals. I was overly excited about this order, because I had by happenstance run across this store on Etsy. (I'm officially an Etsy junkie!) The colors of the shadow..the names...the super friendly customer service (Emily rocks my socks) and kick ass Etsy store, just had me in giddy school girl mode. Luckily the order took only 2 days to get to me!

As I ripped open the neatly bubble envelope packaged "stuffs" like a little girl on Christmas morning, the first thing I noticed was that the shadows were wrapped in bright pink tissue paper. SCORE! I also received a personalized note card from Emily.

Before I start on the "eyeshadow" let me just say: I was not paid for my review of this product. I was however sent two free eyeshadow to review. All of the following information is from my very own twisted mind and is my very own opinion. Woot!

Let's begin-

Also inside the package was my invoice, which I thought was a nice touch. I ordered Smut and Temptress at $5.99 each and to my surprise she included Mad Hatter (which is in the Alice in Wonderland Collection), and Strobelight. I was very excited about this, until I opened them, then I was ecstatic!

Smut: This is going to be a cult classic in no time. I think it's already on it's way. In the jar Smut looks like a deep brownish/gray color. But once swatched it turns into a burnt purple color with gold and pink reflect. It's the most amazing color and hard to explain in words. Definitely one of the favorites in my current mineral collection.

Temptress: A gorgeous Teal color with silver, gold, and pink shimmer (almost glitter.) Absolutely beautiful.

Strobelight: Looks dark grey/blue in the jar but once on it's a perfect silver blue with silver sparkle. I really think Temptress and Strobelight would go well together.

Mad Hatter: This color took me by surprise. It's dark and intense, but FULL of sparkle. Depends on which light you're in as to what the color is going to look like. To me it's a deep, burnt plum with silver and blue glitter. A great crease and.or liner color.

Each shadow came in a 10 gr. jar with a sifter- but the product is packed in! The bottom of the jars have the logo for Concrete Minerals as well as the name of each shadow and the weight of the product. 1.5 grams.

And as per the Etsy store:

"Concrete Minerals products contain no nonsense, commonly referred to as: :: Parabens :: Fragrances :: Dyes :: Nano-particles :: Bismuth Oxychloride, Talc or other cheap fillers We ship all of our mineral eyeshadows in full 10-GRAM jars (never in 5-gram or even 3-gram jars) to ensure your beautiful product lasts and we NEVER-ever-ever repackage straight mica!"

I give Concrete Minerals two thumbs way up and 5 out of 5 Zombies! I am drooling intensely over "Hearts" and can't wait to purchase it. I think the only con if there would be one- the colors are very bold and pigmented and a little messy. Use caution when opening the jars and applying the color.

The pictures below don't do the colors justice, but I tried to represent them as best as I could. I swatched each color sans any type of primer or base. Look at that pigmentation!

So stop by the Concrete Minerals store on Etsy and tell Emily that the Makeup Zombie sent you! It's well worth it!

Weekly Waunderings- Concrete Minerals

Well...I happened across yet another *gasp* Etsy seller that caught my eye. I really need to stay OFF of that site. lol The shop is called "Concrete Minerals" and is run by Emily. She's new to Etsy, but I have a feeling that her shadows are going to be a new cult favorite. I placed my first order today for the colors "Smut" and "Temptress" and I'm super excited to see them first hand. Check out the amazing colors! Click image below for larger size.

Did I mention the names are freaking cool my fellow Zombies?! I mean I get to wear "Smut" and feel ok with that! HA I will review the products just as soon as they come in. I tell you.. I <3 Etsy!
