A few of my favorite things!

Zombies!

The start of a new week! I hope everyone had an amazing and eventful (or relaxing) weekend!

As the air outside gets cooler, my go-to makeup/nail polish colors change too! I want to share with you all a few of my favorite things as of right now, as I'm sure they will all change in another month!

Let's begin, shall we?

RED NAILS!

I've been desiring the perfect candy apple red color for my nails lately. I've had the *perfect* color in my head but didn't have a polish that fit the bill. That is, until I asked my friend Megan! She handed over Zoya's "Isla" and well, I'm hooked! Just LOOK AT IT! I used Manglaze's "Matte is Murder" on my accent nail with Jordana Cosmetics "Sequins" glitter on top. I adore this combo. I'd wear this all Winter if my tastes weren't so fickle and change on a whim. ;)

RED LIPS!

I've worn red lips almost every day this past week. I'm normally terrified of red lipstick because of the size of my lips but have discovered that if I mix the perfect red lipstick with a blue (cool) based pink, it gives me the perfect red without being too crazy! I still need to play around or just GO BOLD! On my eyes I'm wearing L'Oreal's Infallible eyeshadow in "Golden Emerald" and a black matte eyeshadow from Sleek.

OWLS!

We all know I love Zombie related "swag"! But did you know I'm also addicted to owls? My husband gave me 3 adorable owl necklaces for my birthday and I've worn them every day since. He purchased them at Walgreen's for $6.99. (I only know because we looked at them together at one point.)

Isn't he cute?

I'm curious to see what I'll be wearing the shiz out of in the next few months. I wonder if my tastes will change. What are your go-to beauty/clothing related items these days?

Grape Bling, NOTD!

Zombies!

Two posts in one day? And what's with the nail posts you ask? I haven't worn makeup in almost a week :/ FAIL! I haven't been feeling up to par lately, but I've kept my nails polished. So, bear with me while I post yet another NOTD! I kind of LOVE this one however.

Purple and gold. Who can go wrong. Thanks Lily for the inspiration!

*squeee* my cuticles are looking so much better!

Pool Party Splatter, NOTD!

Zombies!

I have a super fun manicure to show you all today. If you don't yet own China Glaze's "Pool Party", I implore you to grab yourself one NOW. How can you go wrong with neon hot pink? ;) I wanted something fun and funky today and here is what I came up with!

The Goods:
Milani basecoat- not pictured
China Glaze "Pool Party" base color
Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in "Ink Splatter" for crackled effect
Milani's "Hot Pink" glitter for the bling
Sech Vite quick dry top coat

What do you think of the crackle top coats? Overrated? Overdone? Just right? I've found if I don't use mine for a while and come back to it I love the look of it. Also, the Sally Hansen crackle (in my opinion) is a lot more "crackly" compared to some other brands. And cheaper! ;)

Have a nice evening everyone! See you on the flip side. hehe

Zoya "Delilah" is LOVE!

Zombies!

On New Years Day, I watched an episode of Once Upon a Time with my father in law. One of the actresses had the most amazing ruby/cranberry red nails and since that day, I've been hunting for *that* or a similar color. I was looking through my stash last night thoroughly convinced I really didn't have a color close to what I was looking before, and just like a ruby in the rough, I spotted Delilah way back in the back of my drawer.."WAIT, WHAT'S THIS!?" I screamed to the heavens and grabbed her out of there and held her to my chest like "my preeeecccious!"
And...despite everything going on (which wasn't much, the kids were in bed) I sat down and put her on my nails.

The PERFECT red jelly with glass flecks. Seriously...the best red I've ever seen. Can you believe I had Delilah and never used it before? This proves you should never underestimate your makeup stash. ;)

Can't...stop..staring...............at...my...na..............................

NOTD- China Glaze "Haunted"!

Happy Thursday Zombies!

It's a cold day here in New Mexico. I believe a storm is rolling in! I love this time of year and this weather. Give me some hot chocolate, a warm blanket, and a good movie and I'm SET! Oh wait, I have kids. Just give me a warm blanket then. haha

Here is my nail of the day. China Glaze "Haunted" is a black based nail polish with silver sparkles throughout. Haunted came out with ChG's 2011 Halloween collection. It was a little harder to work with than some of my other China Glaze polish, but most likely because of the black base (it's messy). I used 2 coats. Not one of my absolute favorite colors or formula, but it's nice for a dark manicure that isn't straight black.

My cuticles get so dry this time of year. (I doctored the photo a little so my uglyness doesn't show.)  Does anyone have any suggestions on killer hand/cuticle cream?

*Zebra Nails with Orly "Razzle"*

Happy ass Saturday Zombies!

I did this mani on Wednesday not with the intention of blogging about it, but once I was done with it, I had to snap a picture to show this off. It came out SO cool.

One of my all time favorite nail polishes is Orly's "Razzle." A gorgeous raspberry base with hot pink shimmer. Alone, this polish is SO gorgeous. But of course, I had to do something a little different and added black stripes with L.A. Colors Art Deco nail art lacquer. I also needed a new topcoat and my CVS was out of Seche Vite (I've never tried it) so I went with Orly's Sec N' Dry. I think it's a great topcoat. It dried really quick and I have no dents. 3 day wear and I did notice some chipping at the tips. But I am a SAHM, so my hands go through a lot.

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! I am going to post a life update tomorrow. Lots of big things coming up and some down time for the blog. See you then!

NOTD! Zoya Alegra with a kick!

Happy ass Satruday Zombies!

All is quiet on the home front, so I thought I'd take a moment to show you my kick ass mani! I received my 3 free Zoya polishes on Thursday (Hope, Alegra, and Valerie) and couldn't WAIT to try Alegra. Such a vibrant cranberry color full of glass flecks. It applied like a dream and in two coats it was poppin'! I applied Deborah Lippman's "Happy Birthday" over my two ring fingers for some extra bling! I am.in.love!

What colors did you pick up from Zoya?

Oh and in the mail today was my pre-ordered Darling Girl Cosmetics package containing 5 of the new Hello Kitty eyeshadows. I will have swatches and a look up tonight! See you then.
