Jordana Cosmetics "Cat Eye" eyeliners.

PR SAMPLE

ZOMBIES!!

How is everyone? I can't believe I haven't made a blog post since Feb 12th! My life is insane and I'm super behind on blogging. When blogging becomes a chore, you know it's time to take a short break, which is what I decided to do. I'm currently in school now studying Criminology and raising my 3 kiddos. Life is pretty damn good, but super busy! I'd love to hear how all of you are doing!

Today on the blog, I will be reviewing the new "Cat Eye" liquid eyeliners from Jordana Cosmetics. I'm super stoked on these, especially for the price!

The description given to these eyeliners on the Jordana Website:

Cat Eye Liner
The Purrfect Cat Eye
•Lightweight, Long Wearing, Smudge-Proof Color that Lines & Defines Eyes
•From Novice to Pro; Easy To Use, Tapered Brush Applicator
•Smooth Application

They come in slender tubes with 0.057 FL OZ of product.  Cat Eye liner comes in 8 different colors and retail for $2.99 each (USD) which may vary.

The color of each liner is indicated on the bottom of the tube.

The applicator tip is thin and perfect for achieving 'cat eye' winged liner.

SWATCHES!

I've read a few reviews claiming these liners take a long time to dry. I didn't experience that at all with them. They dry pretty quickly and last FOREVER. A few of the colors, such as 'Envy' and 'Future' aren't very pigmented on the first swipe, but they are really build-able. 'Twilight', 'Orchid' and 'Caribbean' are AWESOME! I was able to get awesome color payoff with two swipes (apply one coat, let dry and then apply another) and my eyeliner last for a good 8 hours until I took it off. I really am quite impressed with these liners and for the price, you can't go wrong. You can find the eyeliners wherever Jordana is sold locally or online.

Have you tried the new 'Cat Eye' liners from Jordana? What are YOUR thoughts?

Jordana Cosmetics 'Made to Last' eyeliner and eyeshadow pencils!

Good morning Zombies!

I meant to have this post up yesterday, but a migraine wiped me out. Anyhoo, here we go!

I was given to opportunity to try out the new Jordana Cosmetics 'Made to Last' Liquid Eyeliner and Eyeshadow pencils and have them swatched for you all.

Per Jordana's website:

12HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil
• Long-lasting (Up to 12 Hour wear)
• Easy to use
• Water-Resistant, Crease-Proof
• Paraben-Free

12 HR Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil
• Intense, Instant Color Eyeliner that is Made to Last
• Smooth-Gliding Pencil For Precise Application
• Long-Lasting (Up to 12 hour wear)
• Water & Transfer Resistant
• Paraben-Free

Eyeshadow pencils come in 8 color.

Liquid Eyeliner pencils come in 6 color.

I love the chunky feel to the eyeshadow pencils. The packaging is also quite durable making the pencils have a sleek look and feel to them. The product glides right on the skin.

Liquid Eyeliner pencils are also pretty sleek and easy to work with. The product tends to glide on very smoothly.

Swatches of the eyeshadow pencils. Looks at Prolong Purple! LOOK AT IT!

Close-ups of swatches!

Swatches of the Liquid Eyeliner pencils.

My thoughts:

I LOVE the eyeshadow pencils with a passion. My favorites of the group are Prolong Purple, Endless Emerald, Stay On Black, and Aqua Last. Not only do these glide on the skin super easily, but they are so pigmented and last forever. It took me getting in the shower and using my face wash to get the swatches off. :D I didn't notice much creasing with these and love the glitter in a few of the shades. Like I mentioned above, the packaging is really sleek on these pencils and has a nice smooth feel to them, making them feel more *expensive* and *luxurious* than their price tag would have you think. These will make a great base for underneath eyeshadow or fun to use alone.

I did indeed like a few of the Liquid Eyeliner pencils. I felt these were a little harder to work with and that the product didn't want to spread evenly in the swatch, even though they did glide on with no pulling (if that makes sense). Charcoal Definition was the hardest of the group to work with as it ended up patchy once applied. I love the pigmentation in Black Point and Jade Jewel is definitely a nice green jeweled liner. Purple Fix has pink sparkles within the base but once again, a little harder to apply evenly. They do seem to last a long time once applied.

12 HR Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil can be found at your local Walgreens retail for $2.49 (USD) each which may vary from location.

12HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil can be found at your local Walgreens and retail for $3.99 (USD) each, which may vary from location.

Have you seen or tried any of the new Made to Last pencils? What are your thoughts?

Milani Color Play Felt-Tip Liquid Pens!

Zombies!

I have an EPIC post for you this evening! I feel that anything having to do with liquid eyeliner that happens to be in different, bold colors AND in felt tip form is right up my alley. I was STOKED to be able to review the new Milani Color Play felt tip pens for you!

Lined up in a pretty row: Pink Point, Black Line, Blue Definition, White Line, Jaded Edge, and Gray Strokes (which I mistakenly labeled *Grey* Strokes in my swatches.)

The felt tip. It's so easy to use and provides just the right amount of product!

The swatches!

"Jaded Edge" quickly swatched on my upper lid. I was not wearing any primer or eyeshadow base.

My thoughts:

One word to describe these eyeliners... YES! They are awesome, pigmented and last an incredibly long time once applied. I found them to be a bit sticky when worn alone (over no primer or base) but applied over primer, base, and eyeshadow, they do not stick and they do not budge. (Look coming up tomorrow!) Unlike some other felt tip liners I have tried, the Color Play are so easy to work with and to apply. They also do not dry out half-way through application. There is no shimmer to these at all. They are all pretty matte and very opaque in one stroke. I'm really excited to play with these!

The Color Play Felt Tip Liquid Pens are available at select Walgreens and Fred Meyers at $6.99 a pop. (Prices may vary from location to location.) These are limited edition, so pick them up while you can!

Have you been able to get your hands on the new Color Play pens? What are your thoughts?

!Make Up For Ever! Aqua Liner vs. Aqua Eyes a Comparison!

ZOMBIES!

I hope you're all having a nice Saturday?  Mine has been......productive.

My baby son (who's 2) is now asleep in his "big boy bed." Which means, no more cribs in my household! My husband and I woke up with the cleaning bug and have been at it all morning. He's even going to hang a shelf for me, so my baby son (mentioned above) won't keep destroying my makeup. I'm also starting to feel less dead. All and all, a good start to our 3 day weekend. Ok, the Robitussin I took is making me ramble, so let's move this along!

Eyeliner, liquid to gel, pencil to felt tip is becoming more and more popular these days. And you're not just limited to black, brown, and navy anymore. A plethora of colors are gracing the makeup community. Today, I'll be reviewing two totally different eyeliners from the same company Make Up For Ever.

#1 – Diamond Gold
#3 – Iridescent Emerald Green
#4 – Diamond Lagoon Green
#5 – Diamond Turquoise Blue
#6 – Iridescent Navy Blue
#7 – Diamond Black Purple
#8 – Iridescent Electric Purple
#9 – Iridescent Fuchsia
#10 – Iridescent Red
#11 – Diamond Burgundy
#12 – Mat Mocha
#13 – Mat Black
#14 – Diamond Multicolor Black
#15 – Iridescent Anthracite
#16 – Diamond White

I received two of the brand new "Aqua Liners" and a core line "Aqua Eyes" liner for comparison from Makeup Up For Ever.

11L- Purple

The Aqua Eyes liner is .04 ounces in pencil form. And comes in 25 different colors. Each liner is $17.00 (USD)

Per the MUFE website:

"Aqua Eyes is a waterproof liner pencil. Highly pigmented, its unique formula adheres to the eyelids and doesn't run or fade even under the most extreme conditions. Its fluid, creamy texture glides onto the skin and doesn't irritate the eye contour"

9 - Iridescent Fuchsia

5 - Diamond Turquoise Blue

The Aqua Liners come in 0.058 fl. ounces and come in 15 different shades- ranging from matte, diamond, and iridescent finishes.  Each liner is $23.00 (USD)

Per the MUFE website:

"Aqua Liner is a high precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. Rich in pigments and polymers, its formula guarantees intense color and an outstanding waterproof result. Its ergonomic applicator lets you easily apply an ultra precise line to create an eyeliner makeup look. Aqua liner is available in a wide range of vibrant shades with matte, iridescent and diamond finishes. Easily remove with waterproof makeup remover."

My thoughts?

The Aqua liners ROCK! I love the colors I chose. They are both so vibrant and fresh.  Iridescent Fuchsia is just that, a lovely, shimmery Fuchsia shade. And Diamond Turquoise Blue has the diamond finish which looks to me, means that it has tons of silver glitter throughout the base. Both so lovely and fun!

As for staying power, YES. Period. These babies do last, a little too well. They are waterproof, so do not budge in water or by using just soap and water to remove. You really WILL need a makeup remover to get them off. Diamond Turquoise Blue does actually stain a little as well, so beware. I also love the brushes on these liners. I find it very easy to apply the product with this type of brush. I personally DON'T have $23.00 to dish out on a single eyeliner, BUT, I think it's worth the price in lasting power alone. It also doesn't take much product to apply an opaque line. Though, for $23.00, I think theses liners should be more product and less packaging.

I really like the Aqua Eyes liner as well. It reminds me a lot of Milani's LIQUIF'EYE in terms of it's creamy consistency. It stays on a lot longer than Milani's however. But honestly, I wouldn't spend $17.00 on this eyeliner when it really IS similar to Milani's at a fraction of a cost. MUFE does offer more colors though. So, it would be personal preference.

Overall, I think these are great products from a great company. And, of the two lines, I'd choose the Aqua Liner, because of all the colors to choose from and the staying power. These eyeliners are my first MUFE products, and I am impressed. I like that the Aqua Liner line has several colors to choose from for any taste. I want to get my hands on the regular black liner. And I'm also lusting after some MUFE eyeshadow!

Make Up For Ever can be purchased at Sephora.

Check out this awesome face chart which shows you how to get the perfect cat eye look. Just in time for summer!

Do you own any of these eyeliners? What are your thoughts?

*Deal of the Week: !Eyeliner Extravaganza! and Zombies*

Hello again!

This weekend was one of eyeliner for me. I set out on a mission to find a good purple liner for my lower lashes and/or water line when I didn't want to bother with a brush. I did find a couple cool purples, but I also found 3 kick ass black liners.....*Drum Roll*

I get can't get over Maybelline's new EyeStudio. I am IN LOVE. I've been all over Albuquerque trying to find it in black, but it's completely sold out. To my surprise they did have Charcoal at my local drugstore today. Charcoal is not quite black, but has a sheen of sparkle. It's perfect for those (like me) who like just a little sparkle in EVERYTHING.  I swatched it this afternoon at 2:00 PM. By 7:00 PM it hadn't budged. I was even trying at it and took a shower. This stuff is awesome. It does come with a mini eyeliner brush, but to me it's a little too thick. I'll stick with my own liner brush. Oh and it was on sale for $6.48!

I went to Sephora last night with the intention of spending $10.00. HA yeah right you're thinking? You're right. LMAO  I can't afford high end liners just yet at the moment. ( I was drooling over the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Lust. It was SO hard for me to pass it up.) I located the Sephora brand liners. $8.00 a pop was better than $17.00. I picked up Electro black (black with glitter) and a Flashy Liner which is waterproof in Flashy Mauve. I love the black one- how can you screw but black with glitter?!  I'm not sure about Flashy Mauve. For one, it's NOT Mauve it's Lavender it's also very creamy and crumbles easily when being applied. The sharp end broke off the minute I swatched it for the first time. And it's SUPER light on my skin. Of course the light of Sephora made it pop and I couldn't put it down. I'll have to see what I can do with it. (I was NOT impressed with the "beauty expert" at Sephora....but that's another story. Shitty customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves ever.period.handsdown.)

And last but not least..I found my perfect purple without even trying. I was checking out the Maybelline liner and walked passed a NYC display. I don't normally look at NYC, just cause I prefer Rimmel. But there it was, shining like a beacon in a stormy sea....A beautiful purple liner called Through the Storm (told ya) with a blue sheen. It's even more pretty when swatched. It's a NYC Liner Duet, so there is matte black on the second side. Oh yeah..AND, it was only $1.86. SCORE! I'll be purchasing a few more of these. There was a really neat blue one too.

The name of this blog is "Makeup Zombie" because of my love for the two things. And I realized I haven't posted one thing about a Zombie- other than the cutesy zippered pouches last Saturday. So without further ado..here are some Zombie Chicks that I think are pretty kick ass!

They all make me happy.
