My 31st Birthday LOTD!

Hello Zombies!

Since I am sure I probably scared some of you (for life!) with my last Zombie look, I thought I'd tone it down and create a mild Halloween "kid friendly look" using Hi-Fi Cosmetics and Meow Cosmetics Today is my

31st birthday (I won't admit it if you ask again!) and I've had a good day so far. I was able to pick up a few "birthday gifts" today for myself including a 24 piece makeup brush set, Too Faced shadow insurance, and a ceramic hair straightener. YAY! So all in all, it's been a good one!

I've missed you all. We're knee deep into moving and at the end of the day I'm too exhausted to blog. We'll be officially done this weekend, so I can get back on the ball. I have a backlog of posts to make and felt this needed to be the first one!

So, I told you a while back that some changes were taking place in my life. Two big things 1. I'm in the process of moving and 2. I was able to quit my job to be a stay at home Mom. This also means more looks to post and more time on the good ol' blog! Sweet! I'm stoked and nervous, but I am so happy to be able to stay home with 2 youngest kidlets. They mean the world to me!

Yesterday I did a subtle, yet pretty Fall look using some of my Aromaleigh samples. I really love the Spells collection. The colors are just so pretty. My eyes reminded my of Fall leaves!

I'm still trying to get into the groove again at the good old blog.

While I was away for the weekend, I realized I didn't have a good lip gloss. (And my bestie had 15 in her purse!) so I picked up Bonne Bell's Lip LITES in Mocha Mousse for $3.20 at Wal Mart.



Here is I am wearing it right after I purchased it.

I was impressed by the texture and the color of this gloss. It's a smooth gloss with a slight mocha taste. Not the longest lasting, but it does the job. I was pretty happy with my little purchase.

Hey Zombies!

This post might be kinda long, cause well, I have a lot of fun shit to say! We got back from our kid free weekend in the pines! yesterday. I missed my kids, but it was nice to have a weekend of no crying, diapers, fighting, screaming, etc. etc. I didn't take a ton of pictures, because I was busy having fun, but I took some.

I was stoked, the day I left, I received my orders from Sassy Minerals and Meow Cosmetics, so I was able to play around with them on the trip. Looks and swatches to come. In the meantime, have a gander at the fun we had!

Long time no talk and I apologize. We are in the process of moving and I have limited internet access. I will also be MIA this weekend cause I will be drinking myself into my happy place, kid free!

Aromaleigh "Spells" Collection *SWATCHES*

Hey Zombies!

Thursday after work, I checked my mail as normal, KNOWING I wasn't expecting any goodies. When I opened the mailbox, I was totally surprised to see a pretty manila envelope from Aromaleigh. As any good makeup addicted girl would do, I first squeeeeeled my way back to my car and ripped open the package. My husband begged me to wait until we were at home. So as soon as my kids were asleep, I swatched each and every color on my hand. I kept texting my best friend about the colors. This collection is amazing. I mean, amazing. I've never been this blown away by eyeshadow. Each color was so unique and complex. I'm really in LOVE! You must get some before they are gone!

New Hair! ( I chanelled my EMO side!)

Zombies!

I was home today with a migraine. It hit me in traffic on the way to work this morning. It was so odd. I felt like I was going to have to throw up in traffic. That sucks! I made it home and rested most of the day. So this evening, I decided to do my hair because our impending weekend away is coming up so quick!

A few years ago, I did my hair deep red with black streaks and decided that's what I wanted to do again. (With the thanks to you all who voted for dark red with black streaks!) It's kind of a pain in the ass, but once it's done, it's awesome. And because the colors aren't IN YOUR FACE bright, it's very wearable to work. My husband even said he liked it and that's amazing. He really doesn't "get" all this beauty stuff.

So...this is the new hair! Oh and my bare face. DEAL WITH IT! lol (I ain't skured!)

**OMG! Hi-Fi Cosmetics Nightmare 2010 Swatches!**

I'm as excited as a kid in a germ infested ball pit to show you my newest order from Hi-Fi Cosmetics! I ordered 4 shades from the new Nightmare 2010 Collection and I'm super impressed with all of them. In all honesty (and I am not being paid to say this, nor was I sent free swag to say this) Hi-Fi is becoming one of my favorite Indie companies. The eyeshadow is so super pigmented and unique and her sample sizes are ridiculous (but in a good way!) Veronica is such a sweetheart too and a fellow Scorpio. All signs point to YES!

So I won't ramble on forever and start sounding like a desperate fan girl, let's get on with the swatches.

I ordered: (descriptions from the Hi-Fi site.) 

Dark Carnival: is an ominous and intensely glittering blue with a magnitude of teal glitter!
Living Dead Girl: is a golden zombie green with intense holographic sparkle! 

Reaper: is a stone-cold, deathly gray shimmer.

Rusty Axe: is a rusty, reddish brown splattered with a heavy dose of rich, bloody sparkle!

I was sent 3 free samples:

Mind Manipulator: is a super-duper bright orange with a pearl finish! 

Final Act: is a sparkling, pale silver with a strong violet duochrome. Gorgeous!!

Real Wild Child Flash Powder: is an explosion of rich blue and purple sparks on a deep black glitter base!

Rainbow Eyes featuring Killer Cosmetics!

 Happy Sunday Zombies!

Recently, I received a small pallet from Killer Cosmetics with their eyeshadow in pressed from instead of loose; to see how the pallet handled shipping and USPS. This pallet was for testing only, so I don't know if pressed shadows will be available.

Nonetheless, I had to try it out. This is the look I came up with today for my girl's "hour" with Megan. Who did my nails today! That's another post! Anyway, my very first makeup "look" as rainbow eyes, so I thought I'd come back to it.

My kids...

I adore my family..(YES my husband too..) I have 3 bright, beautiful, and wonderful children.

Dade my oldest is 6- and in Kindergarten. He's a handful who's learning to read and can count to 100. He's incredibly smart and already knows his way around a computer. He's a great big brother, tall and slender, and is the most like my husband.

Leia, the monkey in the middle (and only girl) is almost 3. She IS my clone, complete with being a Scorpio (she was born on my lucky #. 11-11) and is going to give us a run for our money. Beautiful and smart, Leia also has a sweet nature when it comes to her brothers, but she's also head strong. I'm sure she'll be able to take care of herself.

Cooper the baby is 16 month. Cooper may be the baby, but he's the biggest. He's a chunk and I'm sure he'll be our football player.  "Coopy" as we call him will eat anything, gets into everything, and loves 'balls'. He's a sweet natured baby,  with a powerful set of lungs. Also the most adventurous of my children.

Before I started the blog, I'd do random "siggys" for various forums around the internetz. I use to love to make picture collages. I had a great idea for one today and this is what I came up with.

Dade at 3 (3 years ago), Leia was 18 months (2 April's ago), and Cooper at 16 months (today). Don't they look alike?!

Totally Unrelated to Makeup! Balloon Fiesta 2010

Good morning Zombies!

Today I have a fun post that's not at all related to makeup. (BOOO!) Actually, I think you'll like it.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and some of you may know, each year we have what's called the International Balloon Fiesta. A week of hot air balloons and literally thousands of tourists. For us locals, this can be a nightmare, because our morning commutes to work are totally messed up. These balloons take over the city and land where ever they want. I think it's beautiful...from a distance. And us locals are glad when the fiesta is OVER. Here are some shots from my front deck this morning around 7:30 am. I'd rather take pictures from this vantage point.  Look at the beautiful mountain behind the balloons!

If you look super close at the middle of the pictures, you can see Darth Vader getting ready to launch!





And for some added cuteness. Here is my baby Cooper this morning. How can you resist that adorable face?!

I've been on a neutral kick for work these days, but pretty soon I'll be pulling out the more time consuming bright looks. But for now, here's my "work" look with a twist. I've been using my Aromaleigh samples a lot lately, because the colors are so pretty and sparkly. I heard that Aromaleigh will be producing a few more "goodbye" collections and I'm interested to see what comes out of it.
