Please help Amanda and Kyle Franklin!

Hello Zombies!

It's with a heavy heart that I write this post. And it isn't about makeup.

Please watch this video HERE to first see what I am going to be writing about.

I grew up with an went to high school with Kyle. Back then he was the shy, skinny kid in stone washed jeans with a great smile. He drove a Delorean back then talked fondly of his father in art class. The kid was going somewhere.

I've only recently connected with Kyle again after years on the good old Book of Faces! And I've found it fascinating to follow he and his wife's lives in the air show business. When the video of the crash appeared on FB, I was mortified. I didn't know the extent of Amanda's injuries until just a few days ago. My heart is broken.

Because of the tremendous and painful road to recovery ahead of Amanda and Kyle, I implore everyone to find it in their hearts to donate (if you can) to their fund. I wanted to do something and this was the best thing I could figure out. I know there is the Japan disaster going on right now, but there is also people such as Amanda and Kyle, who in a blink of an eye had their lives turned upside down forever. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Per the Franklin's website- there are two funds set up for Kyle and Amanda:

MOONLIGHT FUND
www.moonlightfund.org and specify the Kyle & Amanda Franklin Fund. You can also send a check to the Kyle & Amanda Franklin Fund, c/o The Moonlight Fund, PO Box 1299, Bandera TX 78003. The Moonlight Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides 24/7-assistance to burn survivors and their families in their hour of need.

INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF AIR SHOWS FOUNDATION
www.icasfoundation.org and specify the Kyle & Amanda Fund during the donation process. You may also mail a check or money order to: ICAS Foundation, 750 Miller Drive, Suite F-3, Leesburg, VA 20175. Make your check or money order payable to the ICAS Foundation, and indicate "Kyle and Amanda Fund" in the memo section. You may also donate by credit card call the ICAS Foundation Chairman, Caroline Trinkwalder, at 734-595-0864 or call ICAS headquarters (703-779-8510) with credit card information.

Amanda and Kyle are constantly in my thoughts and in my hearts. Speedy recovery to both of you!

Take a moment to kiss and hug your loved ones, right now.

  2. Hi Wendi,
Such a small world! I have peeked at your blog a few times as I am a mineral makeup piggy! Sooo many colors, so much fun. As it happens, my hubby is a pilot and we have spent time with Kyle and Amanda on many occasions, the last one being last Oct in Burlington Iowa. At this point, it is hard to tear my thoughts away from Amanda from minute to minute. After an accident, I too was in the hospital for months and every time I woke up the first thing I wanted to see was the wallpaper in MY bedroom. It sounds as if they will not bring Amanda around for about 2 months. My heart hurts for both she and Kyle. Thank you for posting this for them!!

  4. This happened a few towns over from where I live. My boyfriend is a firefighter and is friends with one of the firefighters who responded to the crash. His friend said that despite seeing horrific things on a regular basis this was one of the worst things he had ever seen. From what he described Amanda is very lucky to be alive. I'm really pulling for Amanda and Kyle. I hope she recovers quickly and lives a long, happy life.
