*Bokeh Face* Review and SWATCHES

Happy Easter Zombies!

I hope you're all having a nice day. It's overcast and windy here and looks like it might decide to dump some rain on us.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a new indie mineral makeup company "Bokeh Face."  I immediately googled the word "Bokeh" cause that's how I roll.

Bokeh: The Japanese word Boke derived from the verb "bokase" meaning to smudge or make blurry. Pronounced BO-KEH in English. The blurry, or out of focus region behind a subject is called the bokeh. A pleasing bokeh is one which has soft, round edges to the objects. ...

The owner Natalie of Bokeh Face sent me 10 clam shell samples of eyeshdaow, one full size eyeshadow, 2 sample "Amazing" blush, and 1 sample "Featherweight foundation".

I am not a huge clam shell person, so I didn't photograph the eyeshadow in their packaging, because I am a klutz and would have knocked them all over my table.

The full size jar came shrink wrapped, with a sticker over the sifter.

I love Bokeh's packaging! It's the label adorable? Full size 5 gram sifter jar is $5.00.

As you can see, there is quite a bit product in the sample blush clam shell.

(Eyeshadow swatched over Fyrinnae's "Pixie Epoxy")

My favorites from the group:

Octopus: Muted orange with a green shift. It's really unique
Lumpy Space Princess: Lilac with purple glitter and I mean LOTS of purple glitter
Golden Snitch: Medium Golden shimmer (leans warm)
Hurricane: Teal, but in my opinion, not just any teal. It's got the most awesome green shift EVER!
Glass Slipper: I can see this nice white shimmer being my new go to highlight color!
Amazing Blush Lotus: a Lavender blush!!?? What the what? I can't wait to use this!

Per the Bokeh Face Artfire store:

Ingredients:
Mica, Silica, magnesium stearate, magnesium myristate, iron oxide
May contain:
Titanium Dioxide, Boron Nitride, Black #2, Copper Powder, Silicon Dioxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Tin Oxide

ALL ingredients used are approved for cosmetic use are are *both* eye and lip safe unless otherwise noted! ** As with any cosmetic,** DISCONTINUE USE IF IRRITATION OCCURS! IF IRRITATION PERSISTS, PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR! IF you have any questions whatsoever about ingredients, please do not hesitate to contact me!

And my thoughts? Each eyeshadow is so pretty and last a long time. I think they each have just the right amount of shimmer and/or glitter. I am especially impressed by the pigmentation of Hurricane and Octopus and the ease in which each color sent was swatched. The foundation was a little too light for me, but did settle into my skin nicely. The blushes are also both very nice and pigmented. I can't wait to use them on my cheeks. I also think the prices are reasonable and the products are not repackaged.

**And right now, if you order from Bokeh Face and enter code zombieblog, you will receive 10% off your entire order! I hope you find something you just can't live without!**

Also check them out on Facebook!

  1. I love Lumpy Space Princess! And the Lotus blush looks like a lot of fun, although I can't say I'd wear it alone... I'd be more likely to use it on top of a pink to cool it down, but man, that is awesome! This stuff is beautiful, thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Bokeh is also a really beautiful photography effect - I keep trying it but failing miserably! Excellent swatches as usual; I'd come across them before but nothing really grabbed my attention. I really like the look of Lotus, Octopus and Fur Coat - thanks for the review!

  3. I LOVE Bokeh Face. =D Lotus is seriously my favorite blush ever I'm so glad Natalie made it. I've been using her foundation for over a week now and it's wonderful. Love her new labels they're so cute! I need to order her new eyeshadows they're beautiful. Glass Slipper is my favorite highlighting shadow now, the color is just amazing. The lotus blush is pretty neat, it shows up pink on certain skin tones, on my pale ass self it looks lavender which I love. I stopped wearing my other blush after I got it. XD I also LOVE Octopus, the color is just so neat and so pretty it's great. I was surprised when I first got it, because it doesn't look that interesting as just a powder, then you put it on and it's like BAM.

I'll stop rambling now. =D You lucky duck I need to try dirty bird and golden snitch.

  5. Wowsers, love the swatches! I'm definitely going to have to check this company out. I don't prefer clamshells either, but they are much better than sample baggies.
