Graffiti Face Cosmetics Review, Swatches, and LOTD!

Hey Zombies!

How was your weekend? Mine was a blur and ended way too soon. At least the weather is getting warmer.

A few weeks back, I was contacted by Amber with Graffiti Face Cosmetics and asked if I'd do a review of her new company.

I was sent "Strawberry Moon" and "Nebula" for review.

I very much like that the ingredients are printed on labels and placed on the bottom of the jars. I couldn't locate the shadow names on the jars, but upon contacting Amber, I was told that labels are changing and the names will be on new labels on each eyeshadow in the near future.

Strawberry Moon is a lovely light pink with slight yellow shift. Nebula is a blackened blue with an nice aqua shift/sparkles. The eyeshadow is light and easy to blend. While not extremely complex, they are still very lovely. I can also tell they are not repackaged.

(I did not use a primer or base when swatching. These swatches are on bare skin.)

I did a simple look today with Strawberry Moon on the lid and Nebula in the crease and on the lower lash line. They were both very blend-able and easy to work with.

Graffiti Face Cosmetics offers just a handful of colors that this moment which are $4.00 a full size jar, but Amber is in the process of creating more colors and products for her company, including blush, lip gloss, and lipstick. I am excited to watch Graffiti Face grow. OH and check them out on Facebook!

Have you tried Graffiti Face?

*the above products were sent to me for review purposes only. Opinions are my own.*

  3. ...Cornstarch is the first ingredient? As someone who has to avoid corn products, I'm a little surprised to see it show up in yet another product. *sighs* The colors look pretty though!

  7. The only thing that bothers me about this eyeshadow is that Chromium Oxide Green is listed as an ingredient. As a ceramic artist and having gone thru numerous Hazard disposal classes thru school I recognize this little ingredient. We were never able to use chromium oxide in glazes that were to be used on ceramic pieces that would touch food. the MSDS in fact states it is hazardous to your health, should not be ingested or even touch skin. Why would this be in a cosmetic?

  10. I have found that Chromium Oxide Green is in a lot of eyeshadows and blushes. Just to clear up any confusion, what makes this able to use on skin is that is it cosmetic grade. However, I am really glad you pointed that out since I just ordered new labels and one of the silica fillers I previously used in the products was mixed with Chromium Oxide Green...so by law, I had to list that as an ingredient. The new labels are also listed with new and improved ingredients since I got the chance to tinker with different silica mixes from different companies :)

  12. Whatever happened to them? I heard they were going to make new colors or something, but nothing has changed and their facebook page hasn't been updated in months.
