Dudes.. I am pissed. I've actually BEEN pissed for a few months now, but I finally decided to just say FUCK IT and write up a not so pleasing post as to WHY  I'm pissed. Let's take this little GEM of a shitty blog for example. Ok, NO, she's isn't "criticizing" me, YET, but she's blatantly making fun of some fellow beauty bloggers for no apparent reason other than pointing out the flaws in their makeup "looks."  What's more is that she's taking photos from their blog without their permission to rip apart their makeup. 

THAT was the straw that broke my silence.

Which brings me to this...everyone and their MOM has a blog these days.  I'm cool with that, really. I am. The more beauty blogs, the better.... IF the quality of the blog is good. If you're creating a blog for fun and to show off your fun makeup orders and stashes, more power to you- write what you want and I'll read it cause I like it! But if you're creating a blog to do, let's say.. serious swatches, reviews, etc of companies and makeup, make sure your swatches are clear, make sure you LINK to the company or product in your review. And don't get so damn defensive when someone points out that your BLOG SUCKS! Ok..that was a little over the top for me. I really do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, it's just my nature. But I will say one thing for sure, if you're a newbie blogger and you're hounding indie companies on Etsy all day and getting free shit to review, I DO have an issue with that. I spent tonz of money in the beginning of my blogging days (I still do) because I didn't want to seem like I was begging for free samples. It's taken a while for me to build a base of companies who trust me enough to send me swag to review. I EARNED IT. It was not handed to me. And these blogs that get so much shit for free and produce a half ass, lame review really jerks me off. NOT in a good way. And PLEASE do your research before making a blog post. Research the company, research the brand, the ingredients, the owner BEFORE you make a post about the company possibly being a re-packager, you hate their packaging, the owner didn't send you FREE shit with your order..think before you POST!

And speaking of re-packagers, what's up with all of these companies stealing photos from other companies or not hand making the shit they claim to have hand made? I'm talking to you ORGLAMIX, Glittersniffer, Bitchslap!, etc.  And then just disappear off the face of the earth like nothing ever happened? (ORGLAMIX!) Because beauty blogging is now so damn popular, you'd think these companies would know better than to try and be sneaky little rats and basically steal everyones hard earned money and trust. GOOGLE people. You're not invisible on the internetz. NOW, we (I) can't really trust ANY new company. I've actually digressed and started just dealing and using with the companies I know and love because of all the drama out there these days. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Makeup is FUN, it's suppose to be fun, it's suppose to make people happy and glittery and take away from all the other shit in the real world. But recently when I get online and read all the drama about NYX or Glittersniffer, or whatever, it makes me want to turn off my PC, walk away, and vomit..or eat ice cream. I have 3 kids at home and that's stressful, I blog because I love it and it takes me away from reality for a little while. PLEASE don't take that away from me.

I've been lucky enough to stay under the radar of "hate" on my blog..I guess we'll see if that changes after this post. LOL This is my opinion however, and it's been brewing for some time. I am just too reserved *snicker snicker* to say anything about it. Now, I don't really care. It needs to be said. And you'll rarely see rants from me like this, so savor it and please come back for more! MUAHAHAHAH!

I ADORE Mars Crystal Power, and I'm sure some of you know why. It's such a cool orangey pink with orange shift. LOVE IT!

On ze cheeks I have Bokeh Face Cosmetics amazing blush in "Perfect" and on ze lips I have Morgana Cryptoria's lipstick in "Gilded Cerise."

This look is from yesterday, but I didn't have time to post it as we were super busy yesterday. So, I'll double up today!

This is my look using all purple Persephone Minerals eyeshadow.





On ze lips I am wearing Covergirl lipstick in "Embrace" and on ze cheeks Bokeh Face Cosmetics blush in "Lotus".

We went to the mountains yesterday and I found this on a guardrail. ONE LOVE, FTW!

Evening Zombies!

I am so sorry I've been a shitty host this past week. This cold I have kicked me in my ass. It's also getting surprisingly hot here in New Mexico and add crazy wind to that, makes me not wanna do crap. I *think* I'm finally starting to feel better though and I have a plethora of awesome things coming up in the next few weeks!

I wanted to brag though for a moment but have to dig into the past first.

I have 3 kiddo's. When we were pregnant with our first, my husband and I went to a yard sale and found the *perfect* crib for $75.00. It was in amazing condition and felt like it was meant for us. The crazy lady who was hosting the yard sale had something else in mind. She went back and forth...should she sell it or not. IF she sells it to us, we have to promise to take care of it. WHY have something for sale at a yard sale if your going to freak out like that, you FREAKING PSYCHO?! (Said the 6 month pregnant girl waiting in the heat.) Anyway, FINALLY she caved, the crib was ours and has lasted for all 3 of our babies. (That's almost 7 years!)

I am now proud to announce that, my last kiddo slept in that crib Friday night. We switched Cooper to his toddler bed yesterday. I thought it was going to be a fight but....

He looks so little in that bed, yet so big in that bed. What a baby.. (The flash ROCKS on my camera, btw. lol)

Despite this cold, I am going to power through, and start my week of looks by one company feature (WTF should THAT be called!?) tomorrow.  I'm starting with Persephone Minerals thanks to your votes on Facebook and will  move on from there. It may not be every week, but every other. Amanda from The Eyes Have It All and I also have a new feature cooking once Sins/Virtues is over. I also have a shit ton of amazing reviews coming up and SWATCHES! Yeah, it's gonna be a great summer.

!Make Up For Ever! Aqua Liner vs. Aqua Eyes a Comparison!

I hope you're all having a nice Saturday?  Mine has been......productive.

My baby son (who's 2) is now asleep in his "big boy bed." Which means, no more cribs in my household! My husband and I woke up with the cleaning bug and have been at it all morning. He's even going to hang a shelf for me, so my baby son (mentioned above) won't keep destroying my makeup. I'm also starting to feel less dead. All and all, a good start to our 3 day weekend. Ok, the Robitussin I took is making me ramble, so let's move this along!

Eyeliner, liquid to gel, pencil to felt tip is becoming more and more popular these days. And you're not just limited to black, brown, and navy anymore. A plethora of colors are gracing the makeup community. Today, I'll be reviewing two totally different eyeliners from the same company Make Up For Ever.

I received two of the brand new "Aqua Liners" and a core line "Aqua Eyes" liner for comparison from Makeup Up For Ever.

11L- Purple




The Aqua Eyes liner is .04 ounces in pencil form. And comes in 25 different colors. Each liner is $17.00 (USD)

Per the MUFE website:

"Aqua Eyes is a waterproof liner pencil. Highly pigmented, its unique formula adheres to the eyelids and doesn't run or fade even under the most extreme conditions. Its fluid, creamy texture glides onto the skin and doesn't irritate the eye contour"

9 - Iridescent Fuchsia


5 - Diamond Turquoise Blue


The Aqua Liners come in 0.058 fl. ounces and come in 15 different shades- ranging from matte, diamond, and iridescent finishes.  Each liner is $23.00 (USD)

Per the MUFE website:

"Aqua Liner is a high precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. Rich in pigments and polymers, its formula guarantees intense color and an outstanding waterproof result. Its ergonomic applicator lets you easily apply an ultra precise line to create an eyeliner makeup look. Aqua liner is available in a wide range of vibrant shades with matte, iridescent and diamond finishes. Easily remove with waterproof makeup remover."





My thoughts?

The Aqua liners ROCK! I love the colors I chose. They are both so vibrant and fresh.  Iridescent Fuchsia is just that, a lovely, shimmery Fuchsia shade. And Diamond Turquoise Blue has the diamond finish which looks to me, means that it has tons of silver glitter throughout the base. Both so lovely and fun!

As for staying power, YES. Period. These babies do last, a little too well. They are waterproof, so do not budge in water or by using just soap and water to remove. You really WILL need a makeup remover to get them off. Diamond Turquoise Blue does actually stain a little as well, so beware. I also love the brushes on these liners. I find it very easy to apply the product with this type of brush. I personally DON'T have $23.00 to dish out on a single eyeliner, BUT, I think it's worth the price in lasting power alone. It also doesn't take much product to apply an opaque line. Though, for $23.00, I think theses liners should be more product and less packaging.

I really like the Aqua Eyes liner as well. It reminds me a lot of Milani's LIQUIF'EYE in terms of it's creamy consistency. It stays on a lot longer than Milani's however. But honestly, I wouldn't spend $17.00 on this eyeliner when it really IS similar to Milani's at a fraction of a cost. MUFE does offer more colors though. So, it would be personal preference.

Overall, I think these are great products from a great company. And, of the two lines, I'd choose the Aqua Liner, because of all the colors to choose from and the staying power. These eyeliners are my first MUFE products, and I am impressed. I like that the Aqua Liner line has several colors to choose from for any taste. I want to get my hands on the regular black liner. And I'm also lusting after some MUFE eyeshadow!

I feel like hell warmed over today. I have a nasty head cold and a migraine and my baby son destroyed my favorite eyeliner. *sigh* So, I am envious today of people who feel good and live on some tropical island, sipping Pina Colada's!

I used a black kohl eyeliner to create the "smeared" look and blended eyeshadow into it with a flat liner brush.

At first on my lips I had Morgana's Cryptoria "Enchanted Emerald" but it wouldn't stay in place, so, I just added a glittery gloss.

I also added a little Hard Candy "Living Doll" to my cheeks

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics! Review and SWATCHES!

So, the world didn't end and zombies decided not to roam the Earth. I guess you're all stuck with me for a little longer!

I was recently given the opportunity to review a brand spanking new company called "Dawn Eyes Cosmetics". I "met" Dawn originally through the Aromaleigh fan page on Facebook and was really excited when she opened her own business. Even more excited now that I've swatched her colors. Girls, we may have a company *similar* to Aromaleigh on our hands.



As you can see, I received samples in small zip lock baggies. I think I actually prefer this size sample! Dawn included just enough product for 7-10 uses (if used sparingly IMO.) Now, I don't know if these are the size samples you'd get when purchasing samples.




You can not tell from these swatches, but several of these shadows are SO sparkly and gorgeous, especially Sparkling Jade, Neon Purple Sparkle, and Very Hot Pink. Holographic Black is FULL of holographic glitter.


Descriptions taken from Dawn Eyes website:

Sparkling Jade:  The glittery version of Jade, soaked in green sparks. For reference, the description of "Jade" is: One of 4 Jades that we custom blended for a friend, this Jade has a soft shimmer but no sparkle, and leans more blue than yellow.

Rose: Almost a copper, but with a lovely pink overtone, this color named like a wine goes well with all meals. Satiny, not sparkly.

Ultimate Purple:  Cheerful purple, leaning pink, medium light and crazy with borealis sparkle!

Neon Purple Sparkle: Brilliant neon purple packed with purple and violet sparkle, tends to neon pink at different light angles.

Blurple: This awesome shade looks like a metallic blue head-on, but stuns with a deep magenta heart and a profusion of purple sparks. A must have for lovers of both blue and purple!

Very Hot Pink: As the name says, it's pink, it's hot, and it's very in for Spring 2011! Satin finish, no sparkle.

Fine White Pearl: A very basic white pearl.

Holographic Black: Black base filled with holographic sparkle.

Peacock Teal:  A softly shimmering satiny dark teal.

My thoughts?

Wow...and more WOW! I was not expecting what I got from these tiny, inconspicuous baggies. When I first "dry" swatched each, I was amazed by the pigmentation. Each is so unique in it's own way. Even the most basic "Fine White Pearl" holds true to it's description and is just lovely. Each color is so blend-able, applies like a dream, and has a nice consistency. I think the only complaint(s) I have it that "Holographic Black" is more of a charcoal color than pure black. But there is SO much holograhic glitter in it. Neon Purple Sparkle, isn't a very NEON purple, but there are neon pink sparkles throughout the base, making it amazing.

My absolute favorites are: Blurple, Very Hot Pink, and Neon Purple Sparkle. I will be doing a look very soon with these gorgeous colors.

Samples of colors from the website are $1.00 and full size jars are $6.00. According to the website the sizes are:  Sample size = (1/16 tsp.) Full size = (5gm sifter jar, 1.2-1.5gm net wt.) While the website is a tad cumbersome, the swatches of colors are pretty amazing and very helpful!  There is also such a huge variety of colors and finishes already! Something for everyone. I am very excited about Dawn Eyes and I can't wait to see what other colors Dawn cooks up! I am also lemming quite a few of the current colors! And oh the sparkles! I think I've found my next best obsession!

RockABetty Beauty Review and SWATCHES!

Happy Friday Zombies!

Anything exciting happening this weekend? Me? Oh, I am just doing hopefully NOT MUCH!  Oh wait, I have 3 kids. NOT MUCH never happens. lol

Anyway, on to this review. I had a hard time writing it to tell you the truth. Most of you probably know by now that I try to find good in all things sparkly makeup. And when I first received my order from RockABetty Beauty, (found on Etsy) I was so excited to tear open the package and swatch the colors........until I swatched the colors.

 I ordered the Reviewer's Special and a 3 gram mini jar of "Jezebel" which was labeled as a RABB bestseller- and received free shipping. (Enter code SHIPSPRING for free Spring shipping.)

While the packaging was adorable (everything was packaged in a vintage looking popcorn bag) and I was also sent a sample of "Pulse" blush, I just wasn't impressed with the shades that were randomly picked for me. I received Agony, Fleshy, Franken Stella, Floozy, and Snuff.



I was expecting so much from Jezebel, but couldn't find a good swatch online. it's described on RABB Esty store as: "JEZEBEL: A gorgeous charcoal shade packed with neon green glitter - it's super sassy."

While it IS super sparkly and shimmery, especially in the jar, I couldn't pick out the green glitter with my eyes unless staring at my hand once swatched. I really think this eyeshadow will be wonderful for a beginning makeup junkie who's looking for a smokey eye look.





I really did like Pulse blush. With my skin tone, I think it will look killer.


Floozy was up my alley as a gorgeous medium purple base with pink sparkles, but again, it wore off my hand very easily and the sparkles didn't stay. Now, again, since these were chosen at random, as a reviews special, I can't really base the quality on just these colors. These aren't normally colors I'd go for and would have to order some different "Wendi" colors from RABB to form a solid opinion on the company.

I am PATIENCE. Anyone who knows me personally should LOL right now. I am not a patient person! I try, but I am too antsy.

Patience:

the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

My take on patience coincides with being content. I figure that they go hand in hand. So, I tried a soft makeup look with soft facial expressions of "contentment" and "patience."

This is my "you're damn right I'm being patient" face.
