Evil Shades Interview AND *drumroll* GIVEAWAY! CLOSED!

Good evening painted Zombies. I hope you're all having/had an excellent Hump Day!

I'm very excited about tonight's post. Andrea, the owner of Evil Shades (a deliciously dark Indie mineral makeup company) has graciously allowed me to get inside her mind and share with us a trade secrets..kinda, and at the end of the interview stay tuned for a special contest/giveaway..and how to enter!

1.) Andrea, tell me how Evil Shades came about? 

"I wanted a black lip gloss. I searched on line and it did not exist, but I wanted one! So I decided to make it myself. It took a few weeks to make a base formula that I was happy with and then couple more to get the color I wanted. That was my beloved Venom gloss, the very first. I started making more colors and people started asking to buy them. Then I started making eye shadows and people loved the colors. My hubby told me I should sell them on The bay of evil and it just rolled from there."

2.) How long as Evil Shades been in business? 

  

"The Evil Shades website officially opened in August of 2009, so that it what I consider my anniversary. I started selling ES in March of 09' I believe."

3.) What sets Evil Shades apart from other mineral makeup companies?

"Honestly I never compare Evil Shades to other MM companies. Don't tell anyone but I haven't even gone to other MM websites. I tend to compare ES to the big dogs. If you set your standards high you'll reach further. I don't really consider ES a strictly MM company, it's just a cosmetic company that makes a lot of MM. lol I know makes no sense at all. I don't know or care about the benefits of this mineral vs. that one. I'm all about quality, big color pay off and fair prices."

4.) What are your visions for the future of Evil Shades?

"To take over the world! Muahahahaha!

Seriously I am trying to expand while keeping prices affordable. I hope for ES to become a well known brand."

5.) What is the turnaround time after placing an order? What's your shipping policy?

"As fast as my butt can go. I try to get orders shipped within 24 hours or less but depending on when they come in it can be up to 48 hours. I do take Saturday and Sunday off from processing and shipping, because I have 3 young children and a hot hubby that I want to spend time with."

6.) What is your favorite Evil Shades product? Color?

"Ummmmm.... yes?! I love all of my products and colors or I would not sell them. I do always have a jar of Suffocation gloss in my purse, I'm addicted!"

7.) What does Andrea do in her spare time?

"Spare time? What is that?

I do my nails to relax and unwind every night after my little evil's go to bed. I listen to my husband play guitar and I blog."

8.) Tell me one thing about Andrea others would be surprised to know.

"I am a ninja. Yes now my secret is out. :)

I think most things about me surprise (frighten) people. I used to sword fight and I was damn good with a broad sword. I have 4 children my oldest is almost 21 and my youngest is almost 2, so that proves that I do not eat my young. I am Blackfoot from the Siksia band and Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish, which is a dangerous and bizarre combo. I was in a Punk band for 3 years, we sucked but nobody could tell. I think that's enough of my weirdness."

I just love this lady and her company..Oh and her makeup. I especially love the shade "Zombie." I bet you can't guess why!
