One Hand Washes the Other !Review!

*Disclaimer: I personally will no longer purchase from or support OHWTO due to the behavior of the company owner in the social media sphere.*

Oooo Zombies this post makes me SO happy....to say the least.

Let me back up a little and do some rambling. When I started this makeup blog jazz, I always wondered what would happen if I got a product that I just hated. What would I do, say, blog about?! And instead of this happening, I've just discovered more and more wonderful products on my journey. Maybe it's that I know what to look for now, maybe it's the customer service. Whatever it is, I really am excited about all the products, be it makeup, bath and body, jewelry, etc. that I've found on this crazy world wide web.

So with that being said, I'd like to introduce you to my new best friends (sorry Megan!):

I purchased these two bad boys (giggle) about a month ago. Maybe longer. The reason I waited to do the review is because I wanted to try them out to make an honest review about the two products. As you can see, my sweet Sugar Scrub has had much attention. The little bugger is almost all gone. :(

Anyway, I purchased two travel/sample size of each product which came in 2oz. jars- they are $2.50 each though I believe the Emulsifying scrub is a little more. (Full size jars are 8oz. at $8.50 and $10.00- I have that memorized because I need both.) And they were FULL of product. The packaging is lovely as are the labels. So unique and girly. I was also very impressed with the way my order came. They were securely packed in a small cardboard box. I was super worried about the sun melting my goodies, but they were safe and sound, thanks to the careful thought put into the packaging.

For some reason Vanilla Lime came to mind when I thought of the whipped bathing creme. Becca was happy to oblige with the scent and mixed Vanilla scent with Lime Essential Oil. I think we were both super surprised at how good it smelled. It's not overpowering as some citrus/vanilla scented products are. It leans more toward vanilla with just a hint of lime. I want you to picture a key lime pie with whipped cream. That's the smell! And let me tell you, it was hard not to just take a taste to "see what it's like." LMAO Vanilla Lime is now available as a permanent scent on the website which Becca calls "Vanillime."

The creme is super silky and lathered very well in the shower. It did not leave my skin feeling dry as most soaps do, in fact it was very moisturizing and soothing. And the scent lingered well into the morning after my shower. You MUST be careful though when using this product in the shower, as it will create a film in the tub which is highly slippery. My poor husband found this out first hand. (Nakkey splitsville anyone?!)

Becca pretty much talked me into the Sweet Creme Emulsifying Sugar Scrub. I was set on the regular sugar scrub, but after her describing this one, I was sold. Boys and girls, this is my first sugar scrub and I will probably never in my entire life use anything else. I got the scent Viva La Juicy because I liked the name. Not realizing this is a popular scent. I can't even describe to you how wonderful it smells. (Per the some website describing the scent: an enticing scent of wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine. To round it out, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline add just the right touch of sweetness) The scrub leaves my skin so soft (especially after using the bathing creme) and fills the entire bathroom with it's wonderful scent. Every time I get out of the shower after using these products, I feel better, my skin is glowing, and well, I smell eff'ing good!!

  2. LOVE OHWTO! I love all that I have gotten from her... especially the Arlette lip tint. The color is a beautiful clear warm red with a bit of green sheen. The absinthe flavor that she makes is divine!

The formula of the whipped bathing creme is awesome. It works well as a shave cream, too. I got mine in Fresh Zucchini Flower, and it smells exactly like the name suggests. Clean, green, zucchini!

  3. I <3 OHWTO! I have their Deep Black face soap, which is rather strongly medicinal-smelling but my oily/peeling/huge-pored skin LOVES it to happy smooth-skinned death, and their lip butter, which is the BEST LIP BALM EVAR, for those who prefer lip balms with a creamy-soft texture rather than a stiffer-waxy texture. I got it in peppermint to try, and I'm in love. My lips are incredibly picky about what they'll tolerate - pretty much every lip product I've ever tried makes them peel - and they like this balm and I can even wear the lip tints OHWTO makes cause they're based on the lip butters.

  4. Thank you for the review! I've been wanting to try her sooo bad (along with more goodies from Haus of Gloi), but I'm scared of my skin right now. I don't need any scrubs. (No, I don't want your number. No....lol throwback). ANYWAYS, I think I can give her a try!

  6. This was the first review I've read from you and needless to say, I'm hooked!

    Keep 'em coming :D

Have you heard of The Morbid the Merrier? Gothique reviewed them (as well as OHWTO) on her blog not too long ago, and I'm being vain, but the packaging is awesome (as well as the actual product, lol) and might be something you'd like.
