This past week was a freaking weird one and I'm glad it's almost over. Now I can move on to bigger and better things. The hubs and I had it out today ( not really fighting but talking) about my makeup. I have been spending too much lately, but I was beginning to try and hide my purchases. DUH! We have one bank account and no credit cards, of course he's going to see it. LOL Anyway, we had a nice conversation and we BOTH agreed that I can spend $15.00 a month on makeup. I've agreed to this before, but some of the things he said today made me realize that my habit is while so much fun, expensive and I need to learn to spend wisely. So, I'll be doing a monthly "What I got for $15.00 this month" post each month. Should be yet another interesting journey for me. LOL
Anyway, all that aside, let's get to the good stuff. I went to CVS yesterday and found some real goodies. I've been hearing rave reviews about Milani's Mineral Blush. Especially the color Luminous, because it's a dupe of Nars Orgasm. Seeing as how I can not justify spending over $20.00 on a blush, I decided to check out Luminous. I like the packaging, but it's a bit deceiving. What looks to be an incredible amount of product is actually product on top, and mirror mini blush brush on bottom. But the color is beautiful and from swatching Orgasm the many times I have, they ARE similar. Of course Orgasm has more glitters, but I'm actually not a fan of that much glitter on the face, so this is nice. I'm really excited about this color as it's a great Summer color that can transition into Fall nicely. At my CVS this blush was $5.99.

I've also been dying to find an eyeliner that will actually stay on my waterline. Even Urban Decay Zero seems to slide off by mid morning. I've been asking around and quite a few people mentioned Milani's LIQUIF EYE metallic pencil in Black. Holy shit ladies! This is really BLACK and it sticks around for a long time. I'm stoked to wear it tomorrow and see how well it hangs around the water line. I swatched the bad boy around 1:00 pm and it's now 6:06 pm and only a little bit's worn off. And as a mother of 3, I use my hands ALOT for many different things. lol At my CVS this eyeliner was $5.49
Now the third product I've had for a couple of months. And after I first purchased it, I was NOT impressed. But as many other makeup junkies, I did some research online and decided to give it another try. Enter: Milani's Infinite Liquid eyeliner in Everlast. Now yes, this is a deep black liner and the staying power is incredible. I had to scrub this off this morning after swatching it yesterday around 2:00 pm. lol But there is just something about the brush I don't like. It's a little too "fat" and I can't seem to get a nice steady line. Plus it takes forever x3 to dry. But, I'm going to wear this tomorrow on my upper lash line and see how it lasts the day. At my Target this eyeliner was $4.99 on sale.

I will let you know how I like these three products after actually wearing them.
Oh and I'm back to my dark red hair!! WOOOT!

Do you own any of these three products? What are you thoughts on them?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!
Since you can't spend so much, I'm hoping to see more posts on the versatile EOTD and FOTD you create. You have great looks. And lurve the dark red. Mine is Cinnamon Brown and I love it! Dark brown with a strong hint of deep red.
ReplyDeleteI have the same waterline issue with Zero, but i'll try to wait until it becomes a stub before buying another black pencil eyeliner. At that point, i'll definitely search for Milani's Liquif eye.
ReplyDeleteThe blush looks gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks fab!
I looooove that blush, omg! I really need to go on a makeup ban but... I can't, I can't, I can't!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are on a $15.00 makeup budget! Oh no! I would die if my husband limited me! It will be interesting to see what you are able to pick up on a budget.
ReplyDeleteLove the hair!
Great hair color! I'm glad you finally got that blush - I've loved it. I really hope this week is better, too. Must've been something in the water here in good 'ol Abq!
ReplyDeleteI've never used Milani, that I remember, except for a nail polish once. Pretty colors on you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the makeup ban club lol :) x
ReplyDeleteI really love your hair that colour.
ReplyDeleteThe blush looks lovely. I've swatched Orgasm before and it's too glittery for me, i much prefer matte blushes that i can add shimmer to later if i wanted. But the one you got looks a much more acceptable level of glitter.
I think the $15 a month spending diet is very sensible, i really need to stop buying makeup. I have so much, but it's so hard! There's just so much to explore.
I think it will be fun to see what I can do with $15.00 a month. Especially since 10 Fyrinnae samples come to $20.00 and then free shipping. He did not say the $15.00 was INCLUDING shipping. :P
ReplyDeleteI think you should do a monthly "Look what I got for $15" post! Good luck on your hubby-imposed ban. You should impose a ban of your own on him. LOL
