I was recently contacted by the owners of Purely Pleasures and asked if I'd review their product. I don't normally review bath and body products (unless it's from a company that I'm comfortable with), but I decided to go for it, because the company also offers a makeup line.

The concept is simple. Per the Purely Pleasures website their mission statement is this:
"Combine one girl's love for beauty with another girl's interest in natural living, and you get Purely Pleasures: Natural Comforts & Cosmetics. We are dedicated not only to providing our customers with quality products at significantly reduced prices, but also 100% natural products that truly heal, soothe and transform for truly luxurious pampering and beauty. We believe that beauty begins with health. We also recognize that our skin is the largest organ of our body and that anything and everything that comes in contact with our skin is quickly absorbed and directly deposited into our bloodstream; hand soaps, chemical sanitizers, laundry detergent, lotions, household cleaners...
Don't let your bath and beauty products contribute!
That's why at Purely Pleasures you will not find synthetic preservatives, dyes or chemicals and most products are 100% vegan!"

I was offered the above scrubs and was I was allowed to pick two "added pleasures" of my choice to the scrubs I received. I chose Lavender and Peppermint as my scents. Peppermint was added to the Sea Salt Scrub and Lavender to the Sugar Scrub. The scent is light in all of these scrubs. Almost no scent at all. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I honestly can't smell the Lavender in the Sugar Scrub; more than anything, it smells like brown sugar. And, it leaked. EVERYWHERE in the box it was sent in. Now, this initially didn't bother me, and I politely refused a replacement, because it's the product that counts. But since receiving this scrub, it's been sitting in my makeup organizer. I opened it to review it and all of the oil is now on the top of the product. And it's super oily. I don't know if I should remix with a spoon. But that slightly turned me off. I have not tried the products on my skin yet, and will do a more in-depth review when I have.
*Note- I did contact Purely Pleasures to let them know I received my package and inform them of the state of the box. I was offered a replacement, as they had new jars for the product. I declined a replacement. Customer Service at Purely Pleasures was great!

The eyeshadow came in sample baggies with the exception of "Albuquerque" (which I had to have cause I live here!) which came in a 3 gram square jar (which run for $4.00 on the website). The colors are nice and definitely not repackaged. Stormy Skies is the most interesting smokey purple with a pink shift. None of the colors are super complex, but they are all very pretty with the right amount of shimmer. Albuquerque did stain my hand when trying to wash it off. (Swatches were applied over UDPP in "Sin.")
My favorite product out of the group was the Lip Lush lip balm in Peppermint- which of course isn't made in house by Purely Pleasures. It makes my lips so moisturized and it smells fantastic! I would definitely pick up one of these if you have a chance. They are $2.00.
Overall, I do like the eyeshadow and will most likely pick up a full size of Stormy Skies. And I have yet to try the bath products, but wasn't completely impressed with the separation in the Sugar Scrub. I will have to try them before making a decision on whether I like them or not as a product.
Have you tried Purely Pleasures?
