I have had my lot of Sassy Mineral pigments for over a month now and I've been either 1.) too busy to post them or 2.) too under motivated to post them. I first heard of Sassy Minerals on Shop My Stash's Blog. Her swatches were freaking amazing and as you know, it's all about the swatch for us makeup geeks! So, I placed an order then and there. period. One cool thing about Sassy Minerals is that their pigment samples are .75! Yes, you heard that right .75 AND they come in jars! Holy hot-bat-shit batman, that's a steal!... Well, yes and no. The price rocks yes, the product is nice yes, BUT they come in false bottoms with what I'd eyeball as 1/16th of a tsp. (Ok, Ok, what do you expect for .75 WENDI!??) I just see that as a waste of space/resources using the jars for such a small amount of product.
(Read more and see swatches after the cut!)

False bottom goodness! And you can see the amount of product.

Of course, it's what's inside these tiny little jars that matters. At first, I was underwhelmed by the colors. But I was swatching them in a car.. So, that really doesn't count, right? (NO, I wasn't driving the car, GAH!) But tonight when I sat down with my Pixie Epoxy, the colors really came alive to me. And as always, I did a little swoon dance. They were packed in a bubble mailer in what looked like a hair net. Not the cutest packing, but that really doesn't matter much to me.
(Click these bitches for maximum goodness!)

Though the colors are gorgeous, especially "Break the Silence" (it's a shifter this one..looks Navy, but WAIT, it's got flashes of teal. AWESOME!) and "Hot Date" (a simple bronze with green sparkles!) The customer service leaves something to be desired. Shipping was fast yes, but right after I placed my order I realized that I forgot to add two pigments. I quickly emailed customer service to see about adding them on and no one EVER got back with me. Even up until today. I got my order, yes, but I wanted to add the two pigments to avoid paying for two separate shipping fees. That bugged a little.
All in all, it will be fun to play with these colors. They are pretty, while not extremely unique, they have just enough sparkle to be considered "Sassy" in my book.
3.5 out of 5 ZOMMMBIES would eat Sassy Mineral' brraaaains!
Speaking of Sassy...my little girl Leia turns 3 tomorrow and for fun we made this awesome pumpkin today! We're very colorful my little sweetheart and I. Pumpkin needs a name. Any ideas?

What are your thoughts on Sassy Mineral? Have you had any issues with their customer service before?
LMAO @ the thought of you swatching and driving. Can you imagine explaining that in court? XD "well....I was swatching - that is, mushing makeup onto the back of my hand and marvelling at the sparklies!"
ReplyDeleteHot Date, Lyrical and Dreamy look really pretty though that sucks about the CS :( I think I've looked at the website a couple of times and just wasn't drawn in by it.
Oooh, I like cocktail party and false pretences! $0.75 for a sample is brilliant... it might not be much but I've never finished a sample, you know?
ReplyDeleteI have a buttload of Sassy samples, I love how fast and cheap their shipping is, especially as an international customer.
ReplyDeleteThey were having big problems with their email server a while ago, with emails not getting through - maybe it's still going? I remember because I emailed them a while back, and didn't get a reply for weeks, then they posted on their blog that they'd heard about people sending emails that they never got. Other than that, I've never had a problem with them, they always ship quick and give extra samples even with tiny orders.
I've only ordered once before but I've never had a problem with their customer service. Love your swatches, they're always so accurate and clear :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBreak the silence and Lyrical... Great swatches! =)
ReplyDeleteOMG, thank you for the mention! I feel honored. And I must say your swatches are much much better! *blushing* I did those before I got my better camera.
ReplyDeleteBreak the Silence is an awesome color, isn't it?
Great Sassy swatches! I haven't ordered from Sassy and probably won't. But the colors look great! I have come to love samples in baggies. I am a sample freak and wouldn't know how to store all my samples if they were in jars.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Leia! I'm going with Zoey for the pumpkins name! :)
Very very nice colours!
ReplyDelete" I just see that as a waste of space/resources using the jars for such a small amount of product."
ReplyDeleteI agree. But then again you can wash them out and re-use them. It might be nice to have some empty jars for experimenting, yes?
@SS: yeah, I'd TOTALLY love to tell a cop that. HAAH!
ReplyDelete@Robyn: you're right, I've never yet to finish a sample. Jar or baggie.
@Jade: that's possible. I'm not too worried about it, it's just a bummer. The two colors I wanted (I don't remember what they are now) were stellar. I'll just place another order. hehe
@Beauty's Bad Habit: thank you so much!
@nihrida: they are beautiful. Break the Silence FTW!
@femputer: my pleasure. Thank YOU for introducing me to Sassy. Break the Silence is definitely a color everyone should own.
@The Peach: storing jars is fun, because they look pretty, but I've run out of space. Guess I'll just have to find more room. haha
@Cydonian: thanks! :D
@Skulda: you're so very right. Like storing the UDPP I depotted out of my "empty" container last night. There was almost a full container at the top!
Awesome colors!!! I need more makeup like I need...more nail polish. LMAO
ReplyDeleteI love how you look at the swatches one by one (well, I do anyway so thurrr) and then you come to 'Break the Silence' and it's just like "YO!" and you're like "*POW* WOWZA!"
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to order from them. I'm slightly excited.
Happy happy happy birthday to Leia! I think you should name the pumpkin Luke XD (Geddit?) But it might be too pretty to be a boy so...I say...Pixie?
xoxxx
Break the Silence is pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI liked Sassy Minerals when I tried them.
Lovely swatches! I have Lyrical too and its such a stunning shade, but I'm afraid of wearing dark colors. :<
ReplyDeleteDreamy is so....DREAMY!! I definitely want to give them a try :)
ReplyDeleteI really like all my colors from Sassy, I just hate the crappy website pictures! I'm sure some people order expecting somewhat neutral shades and are surprised when they get these bright ass glitterbombs!
