On the Beauty Horizon at MZ!

Good evening Zombies...

First a very big HELLO and "thank you for following" to the newcomers. It makes me giddy inside to see new faces. And because I'm at 100 followers, I will soon be posting about my 100 follower giveaway. Trust me, you DON'T want to miss this!

July is going to so busy for me and so much fun. I think this is going to be a big month for Makeup Zombie. Aside from the giveaway, I'll be swatching new goodies from Evil Shades, Moi Minerals, and SudsnSass. I'm plotting a super spectacular Dark Faerie look that won the recent poll on the blog and I also promised a very good friend that I'd do a specific "New Mexico Sky" look and I've yet to follow through. (You know who you are. : P ) I'll also be trying out a newish company on Etsy called One Hand Washes The Other. I'm super excited about that, because there is one VERY special thing I NEED from her to giveaway to one lucky lucky person.

I've been thinking alot about my husband's lack of interest in my makeup obsession and I do understand where he's coming from. Most people hear "artist" and think painter, sketch artist, cartoonist, sculptor, etc. And it's hard to think that there are different types of artists. (You'd THINK he'd understand because he's a comic book artist.) But alas, he does not. But he's also not a female. I've about given up on trying to get him to see the light. This is my art, my hobby. And I don't feel guilty about it. We take good care of our kids, have stable jobs, and pay our bills. I'll buy eyeshadow if I eff'ing want! hehe  He loves me, he just doesn't get it. Kinda like I just don't get Star Wars.

Well, I'm off for the evening. Lots planned for the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned.

  1. Wendi, you will always have people who understand you on the blogs. :) I sorta think my husband understands that this is my hobby. I don't think he understands the 'I don't have enough' mentality, though.

I'm really looking forward to your reviews coming up. :)

  2. Congrats on the followers!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I ordered from OHWTO early, early this morning. <3

It's difficult for some people to see makeup as an art because a lot of people missue it.

  3. I can't wait to see what you have coming up!
You should try a comicbook style make up some time and see if he notices.

  7. Yea! 100 followers!! WOOT! Looking forward to the giveaway, of course, but also looking forward to the swatches and reviews. I really don't get why your DH doesn't get it, but that's just one of those "things that make you go hmmmm" in life. If it wasn't for that dang book...

  8. Woot! Congratulations on 100 followers!

It's so weird how some guys can be total aliens when it comes to women and their makeup. They have their weird things, we should be able to have ours. I'm sooo glad my hubby supports my habit...I mean hobby. Oops! I didn't do a look yesterday and he came home to a plain-faced wife. He asked, "Why didn't you do a makeup post today? Why no LOTD?". Instead of spelling it out like L-O-T-D, he actually likes to call it "low-tud".
Um...I was busy with work and tired so no makeup. Can't wear it every day. *gasp*

Keep up with your makeup obsession, Wendilicious! We all adore your looks! Yay Dark Faerie!
